March has come and gone and with it many changes both personally and globally. It’s crazy to think that things mat be a little funky for some time now, but as long as we all work together and work on staying as positive as possible we will make it through. Now to the reading and blog related things I achieved this month… both have experienced a bit of disturbance among everything but I am hopeful that April brings a touch more of a flow.
March is here and even though I wanted to continue on with my full on mountain theme that I’ve been sticking to, I decided to make the cover page and the overall feel just a touch more Autumn vibes. This means that I incorporated a lot more yellow tones as the key feature to the spreads this month.
As you can see in the spreads I used yellow as the primary colour and decided to use some floral tape that matched to add to the ascetic over the free leafy tape I’ve been predominately using.
I also minimised my pages this month and went for my calendar page, tracking page, TBR page and A reading log.
I am really happy with how this months theme turned out!
March is here and I am ready to read. We are moving at the start of the month but I am hoping that it doesn’t impede on my reading too much.
So I’ve decided for March to move out of my consistent reading of the Throne of Glass series. I am definitely going to keep working my way through the series because I am absolutely loving it. But they are dense books and I want to try and get some other reading done. So I am going to begin the month with what I hope is a quick read with ‘In an Absent Dream’ By Seanan McGuire, the 4th book in the Wayward Children series.
I then plan to jump into ‘The Lost Sister’ By Holly Black a novella in the Cruel Prince series, before I read the 2nd book in the series ‘The Wicked King’ By Holly Black. This is one I’ve been looking forward to picking up so I’m going to prioritise it this month.
Next I want to get to ‘The Similars’ By Rebecca Hanover. I love the concept of this book and it was one that I needed to have when it was released, so I’m feeling pretty bad that I haven’t got to it yet. This month will be the month.
Lastly I want to pick up (and hopefully finish, but who am I kidding) ‘Queen of Shadows’ By Sarah J. Maas. The 4th book in the Throne of Glass series. I am so excited to keep going with this series, because honestly I have been absolutely loving them.
This is definitely one of my most ambitious TBRs that I’ve set. It doesn’t seem like a lot but I really don’t get as much time to read as I would like with a full time job and we are moving next week which means we will be even busier than normal!
I’m just going to stay hopeful that I can kill the reading game this month anyway!
What’s on your TBR this month?
This month I didn’t finish reading any of my TBR!
I got half way through ‘Mythos’ by Stephen Fry, before I decided to start again with the audiobook just to get the name pronunciation down pat.
I also started but didn’t end up finishing ‘Norse Mythology’ by Neil Gaiman, again I was struggling with pronunciation which really slows me down and frustrates me. Its another I’ll get on Audible to finish the book.
I did manage to finish reading two books before the end of the month.
I read both:
- ‘Arlo Finch in the Valley of Fire’ By John August
The Review can be found here.
I also finished:
- ‘Marabel and the Book of Fates’ By Tracy Barrett
Hopefully I can get the review for this one up soon!
What books did you end up reading this month?
If you saw my February wrap up then my whole theme idea isn’t new to you. P.S. Thanks for reading! If you want to check it out you can click here.
To sum it up, in February I ended up accidentally having a theme to the books that were on my TBR. Last month I did ‘Faerie February’. For March my theme is…
It works out perfectly (I say as though I had no choice in the matter) because I have some mythology books that I have been bursting to read – just like the rest of my book shelf.
My goal will be to finish 3 books this month as I am anticipating them taking a little bit longer than normal, not because of size but because they are books I will definitely want to be annotating and marking as I read.
My March TBR will be:
I am really excited for this months reads.
