Everyone Celaena Sardothien loves has been taken from her. But she’s at last returned to the empire—for vengeance, to rescue her once-glorious kingdom, and to confront the shadows of her past…

She has embraced her identity as Aelin Galathynius, Queen of Terrasen. But before she can reclaim her throne, she must fight.

She will fight for her cousin, a warrior prepared to die for her. She will fight for her friend, a young man trapped in an unspeakable prison. And she will fight for her people, enslaved to a brutal king and awaiting their lost queen’s triumphant return.

This book had so much in it! I was constantly on edge reading it because there was constantly something going on and something about to happen, no wonder I finished it so quickly!

Celaena has returned to the Rifthold and she is there with a vengeance. There are so many different plans in place that Celaena is trying to complete that honestly I don’t know how she had so many things up in the air and seemed so calm all of the time. She can be such a stoic character. I loved her character development throughout the story and really wanted to continue following her adventure.

The plot overall really bring a lot of things together as well as continuing the story for the next 4 books. We are really making headway into the final stretch of the story, given its a very long stretch but we are getting there. The different points of view really lend to the story and help to develop the overall plot much more than if we were to only follow Celaena. These are characters give more depth to the story as well as developing the characters deeply.

This is by far my favourite book in the series so far and I am so excited to continue on with the series and cannot wait to jump into ‘Empire of Storms’.
