Sometimes the difference between a love story and a horror story is where the ending comes . . .

While Jude fought for power in the Court of Elfhame against the cruel Prince Cardan, her sister Taryn began to fall in love with the trickster, Locke.

Half-apology and half-explanation, it turns out that Taryn has some secrets of her own to reveal.

this was such a quick read. I mean I know its only 50 pages but I felt like a flew through it.

This novella feels important to the story. Important to see the roll Taryn played in everything with Locke and with where Jude and Taryn’s relationship ended in ‘The Cruel Prince’.

There isn’t much I can say without spoiling this novella. Its short and sweet and gives us a small glimpse into Taryn and her perspective and experiences during the time of ‘The Cruel Prince’.

The writing feels different to that of ‘The Cruel Prince’. There is a guilt in the writing as well as a softness. I feel as though it captures Taryn perfectly.
